Mikel Arteta has made it clear that Arsenal will not give up in their pursuit of Liverpool in the Premier League title race, insisting his side will keep pushing until the very end. Despite a recent setback, the Arsenal boss remains adamant that the fight is far from over.

Reflecting on their form, Arteta pointed out how consistent his team has been in recent months. “In the previous 15 games, we have won 10, drawn five, the same as Liverpool, with the exact goal difference, which is plus 23. We have been extremely consistent for the last three-and-a-half months considering everything we have been through, we have generated that momentum.”

However, the reality is that Liverpool’s relentless form continues to keep them ahead, making Arsenal’s task increasingly difficult. Arteta admitted the frustration of trying to build momentum while Liverpool keeps winning. “We got that, and on top of that, they win. So when you are trying to build that momentum and we put so much into it, especially with the circumstances, it’s a hard one to take. There’s so many games to play, we have to get back to it, the levels of consistency and the hunger to go again, that’s what we’re going to do again.”

While Arsenal remains determined, they cannot control Liverpool’s results. Arteta acknowledged that his team will need to hit an extremely high points total to stand a chance. “You cannot control that, in the end, you’re going to have a certain amount of numbers to win the league. We’re going to have to hit that number if we’re going to have any chance to do that, we’re certainly going to try. When you’re there, you want more and more and more. I’m not going to stop—over my dead body—thinking that way to increase that probability of us winning and being better than the opponent, hitting those standards regardless of what happens.”

The Arsenal manager remains hopeful, but the challenge ahead is clear. “You have to play every game. Suddenly, three days ago, we could close the gap, and you are one-and-a-half games away—it doesn’t matter, we have to continue to go. If you want to win the Premier League, you’re going to have to do something special. You’re going to have to win this Premier League with the circumstances we have, probably have to do something no one has done in history.”

While Arteta talks about Arsenal doing the impossible, Liverpool remains in control of their own destiny. With their incredible form and winning mentality, Jürgen Klopp’s side has no intention of slowing down. Arsenal may keep believing, but Liverpool’s consistency and experience at the top make them the team to beat.
